The variety forms a dark blue-green, fine-leaved and low-growing turf. The plant is characterized by rapid establishment after sowing, a moderately slow growth rate, and early spring green-up. The variety successfully adapts to light, sandy soils.

The plant possesses high winter hardiness, drought tolerance, shade tolerance, and tolerates soil salinization. The variety is moderately resistant to red thread and low mowing. «Ridu» is intended for lawn grass mixtures on extensive areas, roadsides, slopes, dunes, as well as for the creation of ornamental and specialized lawns.
