Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety forms dense sods without producing creeping rhizomes. Due to its slow vertical growth, it requires infrequent mowing, which makes it suitable for landscaping parks, roadsides, and slopes.

The plant possesses pronounced heat tolerance and is adapted to unfavorable soil conditions. The variety has historically been used as genetic material for developing new breeding forms of fescue.

In taxonomy, this variety belongs to the species Festuca trachyphylla, which in various sources may be referred to by the synonymous names Festuca longifolia, Festuca brevipila, or Festuca duriuscula.
