The 'Rianne' variety is a vegetatively propagated cultivar of Ficus benjamina obtained as a mutation of the 'Exotica' variety. The plant is characterized by a laterally dominant growth type and irregular zigzag shoots, on which branching often occurs at right angles.
The leaves of the variety are oblong-elliptic in shape with a pointed tip and are somewhat smaller than those of the parental form. The plant grows significantly slower than the basic species, which makes it suitable for container cultivation and bonsai training.
