The «Bambino» variety is a compact perennial evergreen plant. When grown indoors, it reaches a height of about 80–150 cm, which is significantly smaller than the original species. The petioles are very short, the leaves themselves are smaller and thicker than those of the standard Ficus lyrata, and they have a fiddle shape, a glossy surface, a wavy margin, and light prominent veins.
The plant is sensitive to waterlogging and is prone to the risk of root rot and damage by spider mites or mealybugs. The variety is intended for use as an ornamental foliage potted plant for interior landscaping.
