Ficus triangularis is an evergreen plant originating from West Africa. In indoor conditions, the plant's height usually ranges from 1 to 1.3 m, whereas in its natural habitat it can reach 30 m.

A distinctive morphological feature is the leathery obtriangular-shaped leaves with a characteristic notch at the apex. In addition to the main form, there are variegated variations. The plant is classified as an ornamental indoor crop; it is relatively shade-tolerant but sensitive to sudden temperature changes and excess moisture.
