Carmo F1 belongs to the Florence or vegetable fennel type, grown for the formation of a dense and succulent bulb at the base of the stem. According to its morphological characteristics, the variety is distinguished by a medium-green bulb.

The breeding of this hybrid was aimed at increasing adaptability to growing conditions, as well as improving the shape and quality of the bulb scales. The variety served as an important step in segmenting the vegetable fennel market based on yield indicators and bolting resistance.
