Breeding number 1823-1 was obtained in 2002 by crossing lines NA-676 and SE-1-297 within the framework of the Spanish state breeding program. The plant was created for adaptation to the agronomic and environmental conditions of southwestern Spain.
The Fuentepina variety is characterized by early ripening and high early yield. The fruits possess good keeping quality, a pronounced aroma, a balanced sugar-acid ratio, and low susceptibility to deformation.
