Carmen bushes are vigorous, powerful, upright and densely leafy. Leaves are large, dark green, glossy, slightly corrugated, with distinct venation. Peduncles are strong and thick, located at leaf level or slightly below, prone to lodging under the weight of the crop.

First-harvest berries are very large, weighing up to 40 g, blunt-conical in shape. In subsequent harvests, the berry weight decreases to 15–17 g. Fruits are dark red, shiny, with firm, juicy flesh and a dessert sweet-and-sour taste. The variety has good keeping quality and is intended for universal use.

The plant is winter-hardy, drought-tolerant and heat-resistant, adapting well to various soil types. It possesses sufficient resistance to major diseases; however, in a rainy summer, the berries may be affected by rot.
