The variety is a hybrid of (Aberdeen × Fairfax) × (MDUS 683 × Blakemore). The plant has a high runner-forming ability and an early-mid maturity group. The variety has historically been noted for its resistance to Phytophthoraroot rot, known as red stele.
The medium-sized berries maintain their characteristics throughout the season. Primary fruits have an irregular wedge shape, secondary ones are short-conical. The berry texture is moderately firm, and the flavor is characterized as tart.
