The variety belongs to the short-day type and is adapted for winter and summer planting conditions in coastal areas of California. The fruits are characterized by increased firmness, exceeding that of the Douglas variety, and range in shape from long-conical to long, flat-wedged.
The plant is self-fertile and produces few deformed fruits. The variety has excellent runner-forming capacity, the rates of which exceed the level of the Tioga variety, ensuring efficient propagation in nurseries.
