The variety belongs to the late-maturing group and was traditionally used in commercial berry production. Due to its fruit characteristics, it was often used as a standard when evaluating the product quality of other varieties intended for industrial processing.
The plant is sensitive to severe winter conditions and often suffers serious damage in mid-winter. In agricultural practice, it has been gradually replaced by more winter-hardy varieties, such as Shuksan.
