The variety was obtained as a result of a controlled cross between the varieties Lido and the non-patented hybrid 33x257. The plant was selected in 1996 in Monterey County, California.
The fruits of the variety are distinguished by their large size, juiciness, and sweet taste. The variety possesses a pronounced aroma and is used in agronomic research for the comparative analysis of taste qualities. Along with the commercial use of the fruits, the variety has been used as a parent component for breeding new strawberry varieties.
