The variety belongs to the short-day group. It was obtained as a result of the work of Spanish public and private institutions within a breeding program conducted between 2001 and 2014. Initially, the variety was known under the name Fontanilla, which was subsequently changed to Sarito.
This variety was created for adaptation to the agronomic and climatic conditions of the Huelva region, Spain. Detailed morphological descriptions of the plant are absent; it is also noted that the variety did not occupy significant areas and did not receive wide distribution.
