The Gaubi variety, also known as Big Berry, is a cushion-shaped shrub with shiny dark green leaves that take on reddish or bronze hues in winter. The plant blooms with small bell-shaped flowers of white or pale pink color.
A key feature of the variety is the unusually large bright red berries located in the upper part of the bush. Cultivation requires acidic, humus-rich and well-drained soils, as well as placement in partial shade, as the plant is sensitive to the drying out of the root ball.
