The variety is a perennial herbaceous plant with upright leafy stems, reaching a height of 50–60 cm. The flowering period lasts from July to September; the flowers are blue in color and tubular-bell-shaped.
The plant requires moderately moist soils with good drainage and an acidic reaction, free of lime. Cool, bright locations with humid air are suitable for cultivation.
