Variety description

The plant forms dense clumps with basal, deeply cut, dark green foliage, which may partially persist through winter in temperate climates. The upright flower stems have a wine-red hue, and the flowers range in color from cherry-red to deep crimson.
Flowering begins in May-June; the variety is capable of repeat flowering from July to September provided that faded inflorescences are removed. The plant is winter-hardy, adapts well to various soil conditions, and is used in landscape design for borders and mixed flower beds.
