The Florena variety is used in specialized breeding programs as a reference for comparative trials when describing new varieties of hybrid verbena. The plant is intended for decorative use in landscaping.

During phytosanitary trials, this variety was recorded as susceptible to the Rhizoctonia solani fungus, which is the causative agent of web blight.
