The variety is intended for the production of the traditional Japanese product natto, which determines its main morphological trait: small seeds. On the crop heat units scale, the variety is classified as 2500, which determines its use in regions with a corresponding climatic regime, while maturation occurs earlier than the Nattosan and TNS varieties.
In addition to its specialized purpose, the variety is distinguished by a high oil content in the seeds. In scientific literature, AC Colibri is often used as a model or parent variety, including for the development of lines with increased resistance to white mold (Sclerotinia sclerotiorum).
