The soybean variety Sonia, also known by the spelling Xonia, was introduced as part of the activities of the Regional Agency for Rural Development of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region in Italy. Detailed agronomic characteristics, such as morphological traits, maturity group, or resistance indicators, are absent from open sources.
The research programs of the organization involved in the registration of the variety are focused on the selection of crops with reduced content of anti-nutritional factors for use in dairy cattle rations.
