The variety is used primarily for scientific purposes as a control sample in genetic, biotechnological, and breeding work. It is used to study genetic diversity, in particular for the analysis of the composition of 7S and 11S globulin storage proteins, and as a standard for testing soybean resistance to pathogens, such as Phytophthora sojae.

In an agronomic context, the variety is considered as breeding material, whose main cultivation area during its period of active use was the US Midwest. Specific agronomic descriptors of the variety, such as height or maturity group, are presented in literature more often within the framework of comparative trials with other lines, rather than as independent commercial characteristics.
