Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety belongs to the Gossypium hirsutum L. group and was historically used in the agronomic practices of Spain, in particular in Andalusia. The variety has bolls with a pointed tip shape.

The fiber quality of the variety is characterized by a length of about 1 3/16 inches (30.7 mm), a micronaire index in the range of 3.6–4.5, and a fiber strength of about 31.9 g/tex. Studies of the variety show a high capacity for nitrogen and potassium uptake, which is reflected in the concentration of these elements in the leaf petioles.

The variety participated in trials on the use of defoliants to accelerate boll opening. Comprehensive data on the maturity group and disease resistance are absent in open publications.
