The variety was obtained by crossing introgressive lines of Gossypium hirsutum L. × Gossypium barbadense L. with representatives of the species Gossypium hirsutum L. The main focus of breeding during the creation of the variety was to increase fiber quality indicators, in particular its length and fineness.

The fiber of the Nataliya variety is characterized by increased length in comparison with the standard variety Chirpan-539. Cotton seed yield indicators in various trials vary, demonstrating values comparable to the standard, or slightly inferior to it.
