The variety was obtained as a result of breeding work at the Institute of Field Crops in Bulgaria; it is also mentioned in scientific literature as breeding line No. 550. It belongs to the early-maturing plant category.

During testing, the variety demonstrated a raw cotton yield at or above the standards. The average fiber yield is 1141 kg/ha, while the variety is characterized by an increased fiber turnout percentage in comparison with some other varieties.
