The hybrid was bred in France in the 1990s and is mentioned in scientific studies of that period dedicated to assessing the resistance of sunflower genotypes to diseases, in particular to the fungus Phoma macdonaldii.

In scientific publications of the early 2000s, the variety was described as having intermediate, or moderate, susceptibility to Phoma black stem.
