The hybrid, also known by the designation Blumix-DK 3849, is classified as an oilseed plant. During its period of active use, it was characterized by high yield, good oil content, and relative disease resistance compared to the varieties of that time.

Morphologically, the hybrid was distinguished by a specific leaf structure. Research also focused on its physiological reactions to stress factors, such as salinity and water stress. Furthermore, the variety was actively used in scientific experiments studying plant regeneration methods from protoplasts and in entomology.
