ES Savana is an early-maturing single cross hybrid with a growing period of 90 to 105 days. The plant reaches a height of 155–160 cm and has a semi-pendulous head. The hybrid is characterized by high initial growth vigor, which contributes to effective weed control.
The oil content in seeds is 48–51%, and the thousand kernel weight is about 62.5–63 g. The hybrid is noted for high drought tolerance, good lodging resistance, as well as high tolerance to phoma, phomopsis, rust, verticillium wilt, and stem and head sclerotinia. It possesses genetic resistance to seven races of broomrape (A–G).
