Frankasol is an oilseed interline sunflower hybrid. It belongs to the group of mid-early hybrids. In agrotechnical studies, it was noted that with late sowing dates, this hybrid shows a decrease in yield, a reduction in oil content, and an increase in seed moisture at harvest.
This hybrid is historically significant for breeding programs of the 1980s—1990s. Due to the availability of seed material, it was actively used as a model object in scientific work on biotechnology, including protoplast regeneration, tissue culture, and in vitro pollination.
