The HA-981 line was developed as specialized breeding material for the creation of hybrids. It possesses high resistance to Phomopsis and serves as a donor of good general and specific combining ability in genetic research.

This material is not a commercial variety for mass cultivation; therefore, plant height characteristics or maturity groups are not defined for it. The primary purpose of the line is for use in hybridization and breeding.
