The sunflower variety or hybrid named «Kongo» appeared in studies conducted in Slovenia between 2002 and 2006. As part of this work, its yield and attractiveness to bees were studied.
The name «Kongo» also appears in official agricultural plant catalogs, however, detailed morphological characteristics and data on breeding origin are absent in open sources.
