The line was developed at the National Agricultural Research and Development Institute Fundulea and is used as a tester for identifying races of the parasite Orobanche cumana Wallr., as well as a parental form for creating hybrids.
A key characteristic of the line is genetic resistance to broomrape, provided by the presence of the Or6 gene, which provides resistance to race F. This line serves as reference material for identifying virulent races of the parasite.
