The Mesta hybrid is a representative of the crop Helianthus annuus L. Its creation was based on interspecific hybridization methods; in particular, the male line of the hybrid (line 7015R) was obtained as a result of breeding work using interspecific crosses.
The variety belongs to the oilseed type of sunflower, which is characterized by high oil content in the seeds. The breeding of the hybrid was focused on improving economic productivity indicators and increasing resistance to adverse stress factors.
