The oil-type sunflower hybrid NS H 256 (also found as НС Х 256) was bred by specialists of the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops in Novi Sad.

In scientific publications, this hybrid is mentioned in lists of samples during oil quality research and breeding genotype analysis, however, a specialized agronomic passport with a description of plant traits is not publicly available.
