The confectionery variety «Смарагд» is an early-ripening crop with a growing season of 100–110 days, intended for classical cultivation technology. The plant reaches a height of 140–185 cm with a head diameter of 20–27 cm. The variety is characterized by resistance to rust, downy mildew, broomrape races A–E, and the sunflower moth.
