The Olio hybrid was developed by the Agricultural Institute in Osijek and has the genetic formula (25A x 5B) x O3. The plant belongs to the oilseed-use category.
The institute's breeding program during the creation of the hybrid was focused on obtaining varieties with seed oil content of more than 50%, a growing season of 110 to 120 days, and resistance to the main pathogens of the crop.
