The line was obtained by the pedigree selection method based on crossing parental forms. It is an oil-bearing form adapted for use in hybridization for the conditions of the northern regions of the USA and various European regions.
Morphological traits include a yellow color of ray florets and pollen, a convex shape and a nodding position of the head. The seeds have an elongated curved shape, a black pericarp without stripes and a white interior; the hypocotyl is characterized by medium intensity of anthocyanin coloration.
