Variety description

The plant has an upright habit, reaching 25–36 cm in height and 30–46 cm in width. The leaves are dark green and textured. The flowers are gathered in dense corymb inflorescences, colored in a deep blue-violet shade with a whitish tint.

The variety blooms from late spring to early autumn. The plant is sensitive to waterlogging and is not frost-hardy, therefore it is grown as an annual in regions with cold climates. It is used for containers, hanging baskets, borders, and mass plantings, attracting bees and butterflies.

The plant contains pyrrolizidine alkaloids and is poisonous if ingested.
