The variety is part of a breeding program by the German nursery Heuger aimed at creating robust plants for gardens, mixed borders, rock gardens, and professional forcing during the winter period. It is an evergreen perennial with leathery dark green leaves and snow-white flowers.

The plant belongs to a group of early-flowering perennials, which begin blooming in the period from November to December and continue through the winter-spring months. The marking COSEH 3020 is a breeding code, while in retail, the variety is often sold under the commercial names of the HGC series.
