The variety belongs to the large-flowered Hippeastrum group. The flower has a diameter of 18–20 cm and is colored red with characteristic white strokes in the center and a greenish tint in the throat. The petals have a somewhat blunt shape, which gives the flower a geometric, boxy look; upon full blooming, the edges may exhibit slight waviness.

The height of the flower stalk varies from 35 to 50 cm, and the inflorescence usually bears 4–6 flowers. The filament and style are light green at the base, becoming reddish closer to the anthers and stigma; the pollen is dark yellow. The plant is widely used in ornamental floriculture as a houseplant and is often found on sale as bulbs for forcing.
