The variety was obtained by crossing a hybrid population. Its pedigree includes selection number 3762-37, obtained from the varieties Mirena and the mutant Gintariniai, as well as a line from the Stende breeding station, which originated from crossing the varieties Abava and Emir.
The growing season of the variety is from 77 to 99 days. During trials, the average yield of Alsa barley was 5.40 t/ha.
