The genetic origin of the variety is based on the crossing of the lines SCRI-8313, Fleet, and Regatta. The variety itself has been used as a parental line in the development of other barley varieties, such as the variety Dash.
The purpose of the variety is the production of silage for obtaining whole-crop forage. The variety is a subject of scientific research in field trials, in particular, in the study of resistance to pathogens.
