The Dobla variety is classified as a French variety that has become widespread in Spain and is used in malting. In comparative phenotype studies, it is characterized as one of the earliest genotypes in terms of heading time and belongs to the six-row type.
The plant was used in experimental studies aimed at investigating drought tolerance, osmotic adjustment, and response to abiotic stress in Mediterranean conditions. Grain and malt quality were also evaluated, including protein content analysis.
