The variety is a two-row spring barley obtained by crossing Annabell, Si 4, and Thuringia. It belongs to mid-season varieties and is characterized by medium lodging resistance.
The plant possesses complex resistance to a number of diseases, including powdery mildew, net blotch, rhynchosporium, and leaf rust. Traditionally, the variety was used for malting purposes.
Today, the variety is considered obsolete and is often used as genetic material for comparative experiments in phenotyping and stress tolerance studies.
