The variety belongs to the early-maturing group. Plant height is 95–98 cm without the use of growth regulators and 90–91 cm with their use. Resistance to lodging is rated as good (score 7 on a nine-point scale).
The disease resistance profile includes high resistance to barley yellow mosaic virus (BaYMV), as well as moderate resistance to leaf rust, powdery mildew, and scald. The grain is distinguished by high test weight and a low level of screenings; the variety is officially approved for use in brewing.
The variety was obtained by crossing breeding lines SY208-56 and SY208-59. Early maturity allows for the reduction of risks during harvest and facilitates the timely clearing of fields for subsequent crops.
