The variety is a spring two-row barley suitable for brewing purposes. Morphologically, it is characterized by long, serrated awns.

In the 1970s, the variety gained recognition in Europe due to its high resistance to powdery mildew, though in subsequent years this indicator declined due to pathogen adaptation. The variety was actively used as source material in breeding programs of a number of countries to create new varieties.
