The variety was developed in Lithuania based on the breeding line LŽI 7939-1. During the breeding process, selection was carried out based on agronomic traits, including ear and grain shape, as well as overall productivity.
Work on the variety was focused on developing resistance to common pathogens, in particular to net blotch (Pyrenophora teres) and powdery mildew (Blumeria graminis).
