ActiveHordeum vulgare L. · Barley
ULRICH and JOSEF BREUN
10 August 2026
The variety is a winter barley that is widely used in phytopathological trials as standard material. It is frequently used in breeding as a benchmark for evaluating susceptibility to powdery mildew and barley yellow dwarf virus, and is also included in genetic collections.
In modern agricultural practice, the variety does not have a narrow specialization as a feed or malting crop. Its key role lies in research and development use, as well as being a pedigree component in the development of new barley varieties.
