The variety is a hulless waxy-type barley obtained by crossing the varieties Merlin and Volga. The genotype is used primarily for research purposes, including the study of germinationprocesses to produce enriched flour and beta-glucan extraction technology.
The grain of the variety is characterized by a high beta-glucan content, ranging from 4.6% to 5.2%, and a starch content of approximately 58.5%. The variety is not intended for large-scale agricultural cultivation.
