The variety is a six-row winter barley. Morphologically, it is distinguished by a tall stem. Genetically, the variety carries the photoperiod sensitivity gene ppd-H1, due to which it is often used as a control sample in scientific research.
The origin of the variety is linked to the breeding work of the company Verneuil Recherche. The variety was obtained by crossing the Thibaut and Robur lines.
