The Heligan variety is a winter barley bred in the United Kingdom in the late 1990s. Its genetic origin is based on a combination of the parent forms Tosca and Intro. This variety was included in various field trials aimed at studying adaptation to tillage methods and resistance to fungal diseases.
In agronomic research, the variety is mentioned in the context of analyzing susceptibility to Rhynchosporium, however, quantitative characteristics such as productivity indicators, grain quality, or precise morphological parameters are absent in open publications. The variety is not presented as an active product in modern commercial catalogs of breeding companies.
The variety is listed in the national registry — its seeds are authorized for sale in this country.
