The variety is characterized as short-stemmed and is distinguished by very high lodging resistance. In scientific literature, the variety is known as a source of resistance to powdery mildew (Blumeria graminis), due to the presence of a specific resistance gene Ml(Hu4).
The variety was used in breeding programs and commercial crops in Northern European countries. The plant was used in studies of grain quality, chemical composition, and environmental trials on interactions with pests, particularly aphids.
